Ella Mitchell is a communications producer, writer, poet and photographer.

She began her career in factual storytelling at ABC TV, building a foundation in rigorous, audience-focused narrative practice. Since then, she has developed a career centred on the belief that well-crafted stories can connect communities, shape culture, and drive meaningful change. Her work spans strategic communications, brand development, asset creation, fundraising campaigns, and public engagement.

Ella has led and delivered campaigns for organisations including Iloura Animations and VFX, AACTA Awards, The Stella Prize, The Ethics Centre, Festival of Dangerous Ideas, the Pathways to Politics Program for Women, Women’s Leadership Institute, Alannah & Madeline Foundation, Monash University’s XYX Lab, the Australian Booksellers Association, and ACMI.

Her work has been recognised by the Melbourne Design Awards and the Design Institute of Australia, and is held in the National Library of Australia’s archives.

Ella’s writing and photography have been published in anthologies, academic books, national newspapers, and magazines, and collected by the National Library of Australia.

Having lived and worked in Mparntew/Alice Springs, China, and Japan, she brings both a local and global perspective to culturally intelligent storytelling and communication design.
