About

Ella Mitchell is a communications producer; a writer, poet and photographer.

She began a screen career at ABC TV, building a foundation in audience-focused, participatory, narrative practice. After four years producing weekly prime-time TV content she moved into business development for a national screen agency working across Australasia.

Since then, she has worked for screen, arts and not-for-profits developing a communications career centred on the belief that well-crafted stories connect communities, shape culture, and drive meaningful change.

Ella has created and delivered strategic marketing and communications campaigns for organisations including Iloura Animation and VFX, AACTA Awards, The Stella Prize, The Ethics Centre, Festival of Dangerous Ideas, Alannah & Madeline Foundation, Monash University’s XYX Lab, the Australian Booksellers Association, and ACMI.

Ella’s writing and photography have been published in anthologies, academic books, national newspapers, and magazines, and collected by the National Library of Australia.

Today her work connects strategic communication, brand (business) development, brand asset creation, and public engagement.

Having lived and worked in Mparntew/Alice Springs, China, and Japan, Ella brings both a local and global perspective to culturally intelligent storytelling and communication design.
